Bike Project Launched!

We have officially launched our bike project and presented the prototype at the Valley 25×25 Symposium. Now the GPS-outfitted bikes will be available for the club members to ride, and we need to generate some good data! Ask at a meeting to get the unlock codes to have access to the bicycles in the basement of the HHS building.

IEEE Veritas Winery Tour

On September 18, 2011, the IEEE Central Virginia Section hosted a fall social at the Veritas Vineyard & Winery in Afton, VA. The club got the chance to meet other IEEE members from other schools, taste exquisite local wine, and tour the beautiful Veritas facility. Take a look at what we experienced!

IEEECS Hosts IBM Watson Watch Party With Unbelievable Turnout!

On February 16, 2011, IBM came to James Madison University to present the Watson Jeopardy Challenge. Susan Veach, an IBM executive, presented a short video of the creation and future uses of Watson. The event, scheduled to take place in the Ntelos Room in ISAT, was moved to the higher-capacity auditorium on the first floor of HHS due to the unexpected number of students and faculty that came to the event. IEEE worked with SME and ASEM to host the event. Great job everyone and a special thanks to the guests and students that came!

Our Community Place Service Event

IEEECS volunteered at Our Community Place in Harrisonburg, VA on December 4, 2010. The club made Christmas wreaths, served food, and cleaned up after dinner. This was a great way for us to give back to the community and it turned out to be very rewarding for us! Check out the pictures!
